teaching industrial design and cultivating curiosity
the designer’s role is reimagined in a post-colonial world prioritizing systems thinking, human well-being, and planetary health.
students work collaboratively to cultivate an "infinite beta" mindset — a state of curiosity, critical thinking, and open experimentation with emergent methods and technologies.
industrial design is a profession born with the rise of consumer markets in the 20th century. today, designers are highly adaptive creative thinkers working across industries, markets, and systems of all scales. they explore human behavior with empathy weighing the strategic, social, and ethical consequences of their decisions. by doing so, designers contribute to a more harmonious, equitable, and sustainable world.
